Happy April Fools Day! Or not so happy, depending on how gullible you are. It takes a special kind of person to pull off an epic prank, to fool people, and while I'm not one of them, I've recently met someone who is.
Dante Walker. You know, the guy who makes good girls bad.
Don't get me wrong, he's not all bad, but Dante can wrap you around his finger in two seconds flat and have you puddled at his feet, believing anything he feeds you.
Appropriate for this day, so as part of the Fool For Books Giveaway Hop, I will be giving away a copy of Victoria Scott's The Collector.
He makes good girls...bad.
Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence have made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple: weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.
Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal-opportunity collector and doesn't want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:
Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within ten days.
Dante doesn't know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect, he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector…and uncover emotions deeply buried.
(U.S. only guys!)

As an April Fools joke I put makeup on to look bruised and told my mom I punched it didn't go well haha!
ReplyDeleteAll my jokes on people get busted because i cant keep a straight face... I dont recall any that was played on me.. thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI am notoriously BAD about trying to play tricks on people... not "bad" as in I do it all the time, rather "bad" as in I'm just terrible at it!! I can keep a pretty straight face, even when I'm lying, but it's like there's something in my DNA that renders me incapable of executing tricks - or, let's be honest, even thinking them up!!! I have friends who are tricksters and I've always been a little in awe of how their brains work, thinking up elaborate plots or even quick tricks that are just super creative or hilarious. I, on the other hand, am just a big old fuddy-duddy. Which is also why I don't remember any April Fool's Day tricks being played on me...apparently people learn pretty quickly that I don't handle being on the receiving end very well, either: ) Thanks for the awesome giveaway, I'd REALLY like to read this book!! We've only been hearing about it for, what, an entire year?! Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI tricked my sister into thinking our dog ran away :D
ReplyDeleteI don't usually play too many April Fools jokes. Once when I was little, I soaked my parents toothbrushes in lemon juice.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin got me a scratch off and it said I won $10,000. I was so excited until he tells me its fake and April fools. I was so mad!!
ReplyDeleteI am bad at playing tricks on people, but my friend once called me and said I won concert tickets to Rihanna and at that time I really wanted to go but than she called back and said it was fake, I was so mad...but the next year I stayed the nigh at her house and we watched a bunch of horror movies, and it was a few days before April fools...so we watched movie and went to bed, I didn't, I went and changes into this creepy outfit and turn on this weird music from horror movie...lol she wake up and saw me staying in the middle of the room...I think she wake up all of the neighbors by her scream...It was hilarious...but she was mad at me for like a week...but yeah that is probably my best prank lol..now she knows not to mess with me...:DD
ReplyDeleteI sewed my hubby's underwear trap closed!

ReplyDeleteI hate practical jokes and April Fool's day, I am too trusting and gullible.
ReplyDeleteApril Fools Day! April fools always seems to come and go without any practical jokes played. This year, however, my parents decided to play a prank. My 62 year-old parents! Well, they purchased a very realistic-looking fake tarantula and placed it on the toilet seat. When lifted the lid, I was in for a surprise. Instead of freaking out, like my parents hoped I would, I just cursed and then asked who's idea it was. I've never played a practical joke on April Fools. I need to get more creative and think of someone who would really appreciate it. Up until this year, I would've never thought my parents would be the practical joke-playing type! By the way, did anyone see Len Goodman from DWTS play a practical joke on gymnast, Aly Raisman and her partner, Mark. I was stunned and then laughed my ass off.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway and I hope you had an uneventful April Fools Day!

I HATE April Fool's Day - I am too gullible and trusting, so I don't play tricks and don't have any played on me.

ReplyDeleteI'm not clever enough for pranks ;)
ReplyDeleteThe only trick i've played is putting a rubberband around the spray nozzle on the kitchen sink so when you turn on the faucet water from the spray goes everywhere :-)!
ReplyDeleteHaven't had one played on me, and I don't play them because I don't want anyone pranking me.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I tricked my son into thinking that he had a dentist appointment. Since my son doesn't like going to the dentist, it was pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteThe best April Fool’s Joke was when I and my sisters scared my dad. Now you have to know that whenever we pull a prank on my dad he never gets scared or he figures it out. So we decided that we were going to scare him when he comes home from work. He gets home about midnight. So one of my sisters hid on the side of her car wearing a Halloween mask. When my dad walked past the car my sister jumped out and scared my dad and he like jumped back and yelled. It was the first time we ever got him. It was such an easy prank and we didn't think it would work but it did and we never let him live that one down. Thank you so much for a chance to win and for being a part of this fun and awesome blog hop!
ReplyDeleteI've done the rubber band on the sprayer on the kitchen faucet. Thankfully no one has done anything to me!
ReplyDeleteI've tried to do tricks, but can never keep a straight face and usually I am more worried about remembering my sister in laws birthday that I forget it's April Fools day and just do the birthday thing
ReplyDeleteI don't play April Fool's jokes, and it's been long enough since someone has played one on me that I can't come up with anything.
