Yup. I will be the first to admit. What is it about the bad boy that makes us puddy in their capable (even if fictional) hands? And while I'll most likely be the one to gush and swoon over these characters, there seems to be a trend starting... a trend that may ruin the bad-boy's reputation and appeal...

I've never been that fond of happily ever afters. It's not that I don't want the characters to end up where they want to be, it just seems so... cliche. Maybe not even that. Maybe it's because real life, while it has its moments, is quite unpredictable and, while things have a way of falling into place, it's never puzzle-piece fitting, neat and pretty and tied up with a big red bow.

Vampires today are romanticized to the point that they are no longer feared as monsters. In fact, they are admired, envied, and desired. Julie Kagawa's vampires aren't completely old-school, but their brutality hits closer to the lack of humanity in these ever-evolving monsters.

Dante Walker. Those two words have been the object of obsession and anticipation for many months, and now the time is finally here when he is revealed to the world in all his slightly egotistical but oh-so-sexy glory. I'm not a usually a fan of guys who are full of themselves, but Dante is in a league of his own, and let's face it, he's definitely got a few somethings to show off.
