Future Awesome Addition to My Shelf...

I just pre-ordered my own copy of Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard, and after adding it to my cart, those deadly "suggestions-based-on-your-selection" links popped up.. Gets me every darn time, this one being no exception, and I swear they are going to be the death of my bank account.

What book made me *cave* this time? The Hunt by Andrew Fukada.. Let's go over the checklist of what makes this book sound up-all-night worthy...

~ From a guy's PoV - There just aren't enough YA paranormal books from the male perspective. It offers a much-welcomed change from the typical lost-female-meets-mysterious-yet-ohsohot-guy-who-saves-her story.. Not that those aren't swoon-worthy, but it's refreshing to encounter something a little different..

~ A unique world where humans are an endangered species.. - So this is a pretty sweet switch.. imagine a world where humans are the rarity and must hide their identity? So many vampire stories focus on either vampires trying to keep their existence a secret OR revealing their truth and trying to "mainstream" into a world where they are shunned...(Except the movie Daybreakers, but let's not go there...) Excited to see what this world would look like :)

~ Survival - I love a good story about a character doing whatever it takes to survive.. these characters are usually strong, determined, complex, and highly admirable.. Not to mention, this guy is pretending NOT to be human.. How the heck can he manage that? Can't wait to meet Gene and see how he pulls off this stunt...

~ Did I mention vampires? - Um, HELLO, how can you not be intrigued by that little element? I haven't read a vampire story in a LONG while.. I've been on a werewolf, zombie, and Fifty Shades kick, so it'll be a nice little change-up..

Interested yet? How can you not be? Can't wait to get my hands on this freakishly awesome-sounding novel...
