YA Paranormal Giveaway Hop

A little weirdness in February.. The banner kinda makes me feel like it's almost Halloween, which gets me excited anyway, but YA Paranormal novels take up dominant space on my shelves, so I'm pretty stoked about this giveaway.

The only problem I've had is choosing just one book to giveaway. Honestly, I wish I could could give away all the books I've fallen in love with and send them anywhere around the world. But, although I've been blessed in many things, an unlimited amount of funds isn't one of them, SO...

For this hop, I've chosen to giveaway a copy of Providence by Jamie McGuire (See my review here.)

Jamie's book, Beautiful Disaster, has received a lot of hype (and for good reason), and I feel that the Providence series has been a little overshadowed... But it's awesome and totally deserves your time.

  1. I enjoy a variety in my paranormal reads. I love angel/demon stories but I never pass up a good shifter book either! Vampires... well I adore them but only if they are done really well. Nothing too corny!

  2. @Dione Sage I know, vampires have been so overdone! But I've realized that it's not really the subject, it's how it's written ~ still some good vamp stories to be found out there! Can't go wrong with shifters either :) Thanks for visiting!

  4. I have really gotten into some great Angel books with other supernaturals, and really like them, I love vampire ones too with shifters and all that as long as they are done well. But I do dislike when authors make fun my all time favorite books, the Twilight series, just isn't right to make fun of another authors world they create.

But overall I really like them all. I really enjoyed a series recently by Brandy Nacole (I have her first 2 in my giveaway) were the main character has 4 different shadows species (what they call the supernaturals) in her, Vamp, Witch, Lycan, and Shifter, where she is looked down on for being a "mix" but ultimately becomes very powerful. SO that world I have really enjoyed. (called Uniquely Unwelcome and Blood Burdens, The Shadow World series)

    Thanks for the giveaway

  5. @Michelles Paranormal Vault Of Books I totally know what you mean! I hate it when other books are made fun of ~ I've read the Twilight series 3 or 4 times (lost count)... Or any other book for that matter... So I'm right there with you on that..

OOOh love the sound of Uniquely Welcome... Will be GoodReadsing it :) Thanks for stopping by!

  6. I like witches and vampires. I love YA Paranormal books. Thinking back on my favorites, I would have to go with "Poison Study" and "Cinder." In "Poison Study," there is an unexpected romance with real, deep character development. I love the character of Valek. He appears to be inhuman only to be one of the very human characters in the story. In "Cinder," I appreciate how closely the author followed the fairytale of 'Cinderella' without being confined by it. There was still a lot of freedom in Marissa Meyer's universe and I kept find myself wondering how is she going to fit that into this story?
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  8. @Keely Anne
Keely, I agree with you. It's like that for all books really, if it's written really well the subject won't normally matter to me. But it just seemed like for a while there, that there were all kinds of vampire books/series and some weren't all that great...of course that didn't stop me from reading them though :)

  18. I usually go for Vampires books but recently have been interested in Greek Mythology, Sirens, Shifters and etc. I also love Ghosts! I don't read an awful lot of demon books but if I found a good one I wouldn't turn it down!

  19. I actually like reading about all of the different kinds of paranormal creatures. Except I don’t read about ghosts. At all! Ghost’s stories give me nightmares and I just can’t get into those stories. Thank you for a chance to win and for being a part of this fun and awesome blog hop!!

  20. Vampires and fae are my favorite creatures to read about, though neither should be sparkly. (It's probably why I tend to read about vamps in adult fiction, because YA tends toward the corny and cliche on this subject.)
