Musing Mondays

This week’s musing asks…
Do you belong to any book clubs — face-to-face, or online? If so, how long have you been with the group(s)? If not, why?

I don't belong to any book clubs, never have, and not sure if I will in the future. I enjoy book discussions and seeing what other people have to say, but the idea of having a deadline on a book I'm reading or not getting to choose my next read turns me away from book clubs. I have enough deadlines and things I 'need' to do ~ I don't want reading to become a part of that. It's an area in my life where I have free reign, no rules, no limits, no timelines; the one thing I have complete control and choice over ~ and I'd like to keep it that way.

Happy Reading Everyone :)

  1. Very true. But if you think about it isn't the book blog world like one really big book club, maybe? hehe Here's my Musing

    1. That is true, and we're all the leaders of our own clubs I suppose.. I like the way you think :)

  2. I agree about the not getting to choose what you read next aspect. On the goodreads group that I'm in we vote on a poll every month so it's a little more fair. I'm usually surprised by how much I like the pick even if it wasn't the one I voted on. My Musing Mondays Post

  3. I've been challenged to read some amazing books via book group. I enjoy the spontaneous discussions--especially when not everyone is raving about the book.

    1. I guess it would bring about interesting discussions.. and probably bring you to read genres you might have otherwise passed up.. I'm slowly being convinced to give it a shot :)
