Feature & Follow

Week two of participating in weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. I love finding new blogs and 'meeting' fellow book bloggers, and this is a fabulous way to do it :)

This week's question asks:

Summer Break is upon us! What would be the perfect vacation spot for you to catch up on your reading and relax?

Well, I live in the state that has been rightly dubbed *Vacationland*, so I couldn't think of a better place than where I'm at now. I came to Maine on vacation two years ago, and ended up moving here four months later. Something about the beauty of it just gets under your skin, and you can't leave!

A five minute walk down a beautiful trail, and this is what I see. I've done it before: packed an ice chest of goodies and a blanket and stretched out on the edge of the lake. Peaceful, quiet, gorgeous. Maybe next time I'll set up a hammock...

What about y'all?

Happy Reading Everyone :)

  5. Oh my gosh. You have like read my mind. I have thought about moving to Maine before. Right now I am in Nebraska, but I don't know how long I will be here. I tend to move to a different state every year or so now that I have a job that I can transfer to practically any state with. Once I get some debt paid off I definitely want to keep moving around and seeing the world while I am still young. Maybe find a husband in the Military that way I can move around a lot. LOL. I love to see so many different places and don't really enjoy being in the same state for to long. I've dreamed of living in each 50 states at least once. LOL.

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier, I'm following you back now.

I LOVE hammocks! If you set up a hammock next to that GORGEOUS scene, don't be surprised if I track you down, push you off that hammock, and sit there myself with my book. ;) This just looks so pretty! :)

New Linky follower! Maybe you can stop by my blog?

    1. We are originally from South Texas, and the heat there is brutal.. it was basically a coin flip to go to Maine on our honeymoon, and we ended up packing up all our stuff almost immediately when we got back to Texas.. Maine is definitely worth a visit :)

  8. Hopping through. Wow, Maine! I would love to visit there. Do they call you "from away?" My friend moved there when she was 12 and was always considered an outsider.

    1. LOL it's funny you say that.. we've made some great friends who call us "Mainahs," but the older guys with names that have been a part of Maine for generations say that even my kids wouldn't be considered 'from Maine,' that maybe only once we have grandchildren can we truly say we are Mainers.. cracks me right up!
